Choosing Keywords

Choosing Keywords

Your project manager will take a look at your website to get general keyword ideas for the services or products that you offer. From there, they'll run a keyword analysis through Google's Keyword Tool to find out what keyword phrases are being searched in your local area so that we can best target how people are searching for your business.

When we do this, we do not select highly competitive keywords as these will take much longer to generate results in search engine results pages. We target the medium competition keywords as these are best to start with and still hit a large target audience for you.

Keep in mind that these keywords won't always perform the best for your site right away. Once we get them integrated into your onsite and offsite SEO, it takes time for web crawlers to navigate, crawl, and understand your website to be able to refer to certain keywords on it. Around the 6th month, we are able to determine if we should change the keywords or not. From there, we can make changes to your keywords every other month but should limit it to once every 3 months.

Each time we change keywords, we need to redo the SEO on your website and resubmit each page for indexing with Google - this essentially asks web crawlers to relearn your website each time which is why we don't like to make changes too often.
